HIKING CHIMNEY ROCK VILLAGE RIVERWALK Chimney Rock, North Carolina

Hiking Team: Rosie Miller, Dave Miller

Date: November 30, 2023

Also called the Rocky Broad Riverwalk, Rosie found this .5-mile trail downtown which hugged and sometimes crossed the Broad River. Due to the lack of rain the Broad River was not very deep nor flowing rapidly over the many large and small rocks that rimmed the curving river. Still, it was a pleasant hike past the rear entrances of coffee shops, restaurants, craft shops and small lodges. Along the trail one sign warned us that black bears have been seen in the area and to beware of water snakes. In some places, beautiful Christmas lights accented the trail, the wooded area, and some of the stone houses. It was a short but enjoyable hike.
