This National Scenic Trail is 4,800 miles in length from North Dakota to Vermont passing through eight states. The North Country Trail (NCT) runs through Ohio for 1,076 miles, about 90% of those miles is via the preexisting Buckeye Trail which loops through the state. In the past, Rosie and I have hiked parts of the Buckeye Trail throughout Ohio. Today, I hiked two miles of the section of the NCT which ran through Eastwood Metroparks. The trail meandered through the woods parallel to the Mad River and then back out into the open joining an existing bike path. Perhaps someday we will hike a longer section of this trail out in a western state.
