We hiked 4.5 miles past Steel Creek Campground and across from Roork Bluff and Big Bluff to Ponca. The wooded trail follows a ridge line above the river through the Ponca Wilderness, past cascading creeks, spring wildflowers, a 30-foot waterfall, along bluffs with occasional views of the Buffalo River. We had a beautiful sunset at the campground, then fog the following morning.
