HIKED CONTINENTAL DIVIDE TRAIL Mimbres, New Mexico

Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: May 15, 2024

In the Gila National Forest, we came upon the trail just off Forest Road and Brannon Park just north of San Lorenzo. The entire trail is 3,100 miles long from the Canada border to the Mexico border. We hiked another part of this trail on our trip. Although we had already hiked three trails today, we hopped out of the truck and hiked about two miles southeastward on this famous long-distance trail. As you can see from the photos the trail is not very wide at this point. We crossed two dry creek beds. The sage, grass and brush rubbed against my hiking pants most of the time – not very comforting considering you were always on the lookout for rattlesnakes.
