HIKED HIGH FALLS LOOP TRAIL Dupont State Recreational Forest, Brevard, North Carolina

Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: May 8, 2026

The trail was a 1.9-mile loop hike which took us past Triple Falls and ascended along Little River through the forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains. About one mile later we came to High Falls, which was wide and awesome, a 125-foot cascading waterfall. We sat on rocks for ten minutes and enjoyed the loud sounds and watery smells of this huge waterfall. Above the Falls we hiked the .2-mile Covered Bridge Trail to the Little River as a covered bridge was built across the top of the Falls. The trail then circled back down the mountain to the parking lot.
