This livery and horse corral was the site of the famous gunfight between Wyatt, Morgan and Tombstone City Marshal Virgil Earp, Doc Holliday and fight outlaws the McLaury’s and the Clanton’s on October 26, 1881. The 30 second gunfight left Virgil and Morgan Earp wounded and three cowboys dead. We toured the corral, the narrow lot six doors west where the gunfight took place and a 1880’s blacksmith shop. I purchased a reprint copy of the 1881 edition of the Tombstone Epitaph Newspaper with the original reports of the gunfight. We watched portrayers stage a mock gunfight in the street. Two of the McLaury’s bodies were buried at Boot Hill Cemetery which we visited later that morning (Photo#3 ). The OK Corral is said to be haunted by several cowboys as well as Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. On my two visits there I did not perform a paranormal investigation. I just enjoyed the history of the site.
