A unique roadside attraction, a giant 30-foot-high washboard hangs outside the factory. When I was young, I remember my grandmother using a washboard to wash clothes. Here in Logan, the Columbus Washboard Company has been manufacturing washboards since 1895. They assemble the washboards by hand and are the only washboard company in the USA. Peaking in 1941 when 1.2 million washboards were made, they are still used today for hand scrubbing. Also, for $160, you can buy a musical washboard and make music!
