HIKING BUCK HILL TRAIL Teddy Roosevelt National Park, Medora, North Dakota

Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: June 19, 2022

We drove past a burning underground coal vein, smelling the smoke vividly. At Buck Hill trailhead, we climbed the steep trail to the hilltop. The view to the west showed the badlands and to the east the grasslands. We backtracked and hiked almost a mile in the other direction thru grassland to another lookout. The nice breeze made the hiking comfortable. Several bison roamed in the distance. Just off the trail prairie dogs kept an eye on us.
