I created this 5K race and as a member of the Rotary Club, I got the club to sponsor and co-administer it. Since I was administering the City of Moraine Heritage Festival, I held the run on the Saturday morning of the three-day festival. I could not participate in the race since I was race director but Rosie ran it often and all four kids ran the race with Rosie a couple years. The race began at the main festival tent behind the Moraine Natatorium, continued west through the city streets to Apple Plat and back. Rosie always finished in the top three woman overall unless she ran slow to be with the kids. In 2002 (Photo #3) she finished 2nd overall woman.
In 2001 we moved the Moraine Heritage Festival to late June. Moraine Parks & Recreation Department then sponsored the race. In 2006 Matt finished as the Top Male Moraine Employee Finisher and in 2008 Matt was the Top Moraine Resident Male Finisher (Photos #4 & #5).
