This two-mile loop trail on footpaths and some boardwalk took us through a dense palm hammock, a marsh swamp, scrub palms, and in some places an oak canopy. The trail was closed halfway along as a small bridge over the swamp was under repair. We did see some egrets, frogs, and the large, colorful, and scary looking golden silk spiders. Just south of this trail is the NASA Space Shuttle Landing Strip and Facility.
