BIKING LOVELAND TO MILFORD Miamiville, Ohio

Biking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller, Holly Eller

Date: June 16, 2024

It was Father’s Day, so I wanted to bicycle a portion of the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail that I had never been on. We drove 46 miles and parked at Loveland Paddlesports (Home of the Loveland Frogman Triathlon) next to the bike trail. We headed south on the mostly tree covered trail passing occasional houses and traveling either parallel to or sometimes crossing the Little Miami River. The river looked busy with people kayaking. After about nine miles we turned around at downtown Milford’s bike station and headed back north. The trail was very busy with bikers, joggers and walkers. At Miamiville, we parked our bikes at the Miamiville Trailyard, a restaurant that attracts a lot of bicyclists. We ate outside and enjoyed mahi mahi sandwiches and fries. I then lead us into Miamiville to show them the local nature preserve park and then on to Evergreen Cemetery to view the unique tombstone of the Cincinnatian who was dealing poker in Deadwood, South Dakota in the 1880’s when Wild Bill Hickock was shot. We then jumped back onto the bike path and enjoyed a leisurely bike ride to Loveland. Overall, we biked about 20 miles. The restaurants and shops along the bike path in Loveland were crowded with people, probably due to Father’s Day. I loaded up the bikes and drove to Lebanon to an ice cream shop across from the Golden Lamb Restaurant. We ended Father’s Day with delicious ice cream cones and shakes.
