BICYCLED ARKANSAS RIVER TRAIL North Little Rock, Arkansas

Biking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: May 1, 2024

We drove past Booger Hollow, Arkansas and made it to the Capital City of Arkansas. Our campground (the unique Downtown Riverside RV Park) was on the banks of the big Arkansas River across from Little Rock. We set up the travel trailer and then hopped on the bike trail which was beside our campsite. We bicycled west parallel to the river on a fun 16-mile journey. We passed several small city parks, the Little Rock Travelers Double AA minor league baseball team stadium, past the USS Razorback submarine and eventually through county, state and federal park land. Eventually, this led us up ninety feet and over the famous Big Dam Bridge, a massive 4,426-foot span built across the Murray Lock & Dam. This is North America’s Longest Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge built for that purpose. The bridge took us across the raging Arkansas River. Across the river in Little Rock was greenspace, large mansions, restaurants and downtown.
