This short hike showed an historical kiosk and remnants of Commanche Springs, once one of the largest natural springs in Texas. In the old west days, it supplied both Commanche Indians, pioneers and wagon trains. This main spring and a few other springs would pump 60 million gallons of water per day until it unexpectantly stopped flowing in the early 1960’s.
