The last time we visited here was in the early 2000’s. During the five-mile drive from the park entrance sign to the visitor center I passed a coyote walking along the road and took photos of four mule deer. The visitor center sat atop the summit of a ridge overlooking the plains below. This trail was only .5 mile long but as we ascended the hill we were rewarded with a great view of Walnut Canyon. Down on the right was where I had the deer sightings. That night back at the campsite we watched a beautiful sunset.
