This 1.9-mile trail in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area was challenging because it was 95% on rock shelves, wind carved sandstone, and slickrock formations so I had to constantly look for cairns to stay on the trail. This trail reminded me of the beehive rocks at Valley of Fire Trail in Nevada. The trail was wrapped around a high rock spire called the Shiva-Nandi Rock and eventually came to The New Wave (Photo#4), a whirlpool looking spiral rock design. Looking out in the desert reminded me of a past Twilight Zone episode where astronauts were lost after crash landing their rocket ship. Later, we came to some pretty wildflowers above a cliff area. The trail descended back down to the desert floor for the final .1 mile.
