HIKED LAUREL MOUNTAIN TRAIL Laughlintown, Pennsylvania

Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller, Debbie Miller

Date: November 1984

Somewhere between Laurel Mountain and Laurel Ridge State Park, we began this forest trail after an eight-inch snowfall the night before. After hiking for half a mile to loosen up, we then put on our skis. Following the hiking trail we cross-country skied about four miles. Due to the snowfall at times, we questioned if we were still on the trail.  Debbie said that she hiked here often but she was having trouble recognizing the snow-covered landmarks. It began snowing, we were getting cold and hoped we were not lost on the desolate mountaintop. Fortunately, we came to a crossroad and were able to head back towards our warm car. It was a great workout, and the snow-covered forest was beautiful.
