We have hiked up this tree tower made from a giant Douglass fir tree at Cox Arboretum Metro Park at least twenty times before I noticed that it was a roadside attraction listed at the Roadside America website. Built in 2012, the observation tower is 65 feet tall, and it takes 81 wooden steps to reach the top platform. It gives us a great panoramic view of the surrounding park, landscape, conifer tree growth and the Miami Valley.
