In Brock Cemetery there is a popular Ohio Roadside Attraction, the grave of famous sharpshooter Annie Oakley. Born in Ohio, she joined Buffalo Bill Cody’s touring wild west shows in the 1880’s and 1890’s and made the second highest salary next to Buffalo Bill’s. She had incredible shooting skills whether standing on the ground or standing on the back of a galloping horse. She could split a playing card in half, edge on. She taught over 15,000 women to shoot. She died in 1926 at age 66. We visited her grave after visiting a museum in Greenville that has a huge Annie Oakley display.
