Next to Capt. Alfred Parker Park, a small park on the bay known for its chain link fence with hundreds of padlocks commemorating dates and special events, sits a unique roadside attraction. A “shiphouse”, or three-story middle section of a Henry Ford’s personal 1924 Great Lakes Freighter, was cut from the boat and made into a house. It is privately owned but is open for occasional tours.
