Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller
Date: February 3, 2024
The temperature rose to 46 degrees, a luxury during this extremely cold winter, so we took advantage of it. The beginning of this 2.2-mile trail ascended 203 feet up the trail and across the ridge. The trail circled left and wound down the gorge towards Caesars Creek. The current in the creek was flowing briskly due to the recent rain and snowmelt. The creek merged a half mile downstream with the Little Miami River, a state and national scenic river. The hiking trail climbed about 80 feet back up the ridge where we hiked past dozens of black locust trees, sycamore trees and red oak trees. Once back in the car just down the road was the beautiful Corwin Nixon Covered Bridge built back in 1982.
