Located within Balmorhea State Park, this pool was created by WPA workers during the Great Depression. The pool is spring fed, covers 1.75 acres holding over 3.5 million gallons of water and has a year-round temperature of 78 degrees. The pool is 25 feet deep in some areas, making snorkeling and scuba diving an option. It is said that some species of fish and turtles still live in the swimming pool.
