Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Near the Enoree River and along Cedar Shoals Creek we hiked a total of 3.8 miles on this thick forest out and back trail. The area was the site of a Revolutionary War battle. The British Camp Trail was just over two miles and had many historic wayside kiosks, ruins of the Musgrove House and the location of a 18th century ford across the river. The Battlefield Trail took us through the hills and woods where the battle of Musgrove Mill took place on August 19, 1870. Along Cedar Shoals Creek was Horseshoe Falls, with a popular swimming hole just past the falls. On the trail we met four sisters from Nebraska and across the country. This was our third and final hike of the day and we enjoyed a delicious fish dinner at Blue Ocean Seafood Restaurant in Clinton where I enjoyed fresh grouper with okra and Rosie had salmon.

I enjoy seeing your adventures. I live in South Carolina, not far from Musgrove Mills . I love reading about the history that South Carolina has.
Thank you,
