CAMPBELL HILL, HIGHEST POINT IN OHIO Bellefontaine, Ohio

Investigation Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: July 30, 2020

This Roadside Attraction sits on the campus of Clark State. A Ohio Historical Marker & flag are erected next to the marble stone “X” in the ground marking 1,549 feet, the highest elevation in Ohio. On this small hill, there is a bench to sit and relax in the shade. Nearby are two silos and a revolving radar dish, the site from 1951 to 1969 of a NORAD Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron Station which monitored and reported friendly or suspicious aircraft during the Cold War. Ohio is pretty flat – no majestic mountaintop view at this site which is just a few feet above the surrounding countryside.
