Since we have visited this Roadside Attraction it has become a state park. We camped at the KOA Campground in Ocala. The Silver River is a beautiful crystal clear spring fed river and was the site of six Hollywood Tarzan Movies in the 1930’3 and 40’s starring Johnny Weismueller, the 1950’s Creature From The Black Lagoon, one James Bond movie and the Seahunt TV series starring Lloyd Bridges. We took a tour through the “jungle” in a jeep observing local wildlife and gators. We then bought tickets on one of their world famous glass bottom boats (Photo#3) where we could look down and observe the various fish, turtles, springs, movie props, a manatee and underwater life. We then walked the park trail and came to a children’s petting zoo. The kids took turns holding a six foot long snake (Photo#4)
