HIKING SYCAMORE STATE PARK Trotwood, Ohio

Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: July 10, 2021

This large state park had multiple trails that connected to each other. We hiked 1.8 miles on the Beech Ridge Trail, a combination of woods, meadow and fishing pond with a half mile of this creative trail called Storybook Trail – kid oriented with 16 stations/signs telling a kids story with nature interpretation questions and challenges to get kids exploring nature. It was pretty cool. We drove to another trailhead and hiked 2.7 miles on the Ghost Hedge Nature Trail that ran on both sides of Wolf Creek. Being very isolated and hiking on the tight, tree covered trail along Wolf Creek was eerie at times. I felt Jason Vorhees was going to step out of the woods any moment with his machete. I also took a photo of an unusual growth on a tree that looked like butt cheeks.
