It was a humid afternoon at John Bryan State Park as we hiked 2.8 miles on the Camp Trail in the southwest portion of the park. The trail paralleled the scenic Little Miami River. The trail was very tight, only 3 to 4 feet wide at times but was shady with oak and maple trees and the sound of the river water was soothing. The river was only a foot deep most of the time making kayaking impossible. We eventually came to the historic Grinnell Mill built along the river in 1813 which is now a bed and breakfast.
