This was a great find at the county fairgrounds. There are less than 150 wooden carousels left in the USA out of 2,500 and this is one of the finest. Built in 1905, it has three rows of stationary animals housed in a 12-side framed building. All 46 original animals looked new, and there are real antlers on the deer and real horsehair tails on many of the horses. We rode the carousel two times enjoying the music piped out from the Wurlitzer organ. This is the only antique carousel in America still having original paint on both the scenery panels and on the animals.
