This was an awesome roadside attraction. The crab was 12 feet tall, 67 feet wide and 28 feet wide not counting the elevated tail. Originally brown in color, it is now painted green. You could walk inside the rear end of the crab and surprise; it could seat about 30 people and had a TV screen. On a shelf was a small exhibit of crabs. The history of this crab is interesting.
It was built for a science museum in Maryland, but the museum never opened. It was sold to the Creation Museum in Kentucky for a creation fossil display but was too big. It was donated to a preacher in Blanchester, Ohio for his church who preached that since crabs did not change its form through history and never evolved, then God’s creation account must be true. In 2015 it was sold to a couple in Hillsboro who moved the crab again and now displays it as a roadside attraction.
