This local park was unique because it was Ohio’s first self-guided environmental park designed to help people of all abilities experience nature and to learn and restore nature where they live. The trails totaled about 1.1 miles but one trail circles around a small pond and contained six learning pods. The pod was a metal box that you could crank to generate power. You pushed one of four buttons, cranked and then a voice would talk about the nature subject on a large kiosk to the left of the pod. It was unique so I am trying to obtain costs of the pods as I may try to add these to a couple of Moraine historical trail exhibits. While hiking I took several beautiful photos of the showing the trees fall colors.
