HIKED SEDONA VIEW TRAIL Sedona, Arizona

Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: May 19, 2024

After a yummy Mexican lunch at Café Jose, we drove up a long ridge to a beautiful overlook of the city of Sedona far below and huge red rock formations, spires and canyons in the distance. Refueled and farting from the Mexican beans and tacos, I led us .6 mile down a rocky, trail constantly scanning for rattlesnakes. We saw a hiker with a dog and the dog wore shoes to protect its’ paws from the hard rocks. At the bottom of the trail where it meets Airport Loop Trail, the ground leveled off overlooking Munds Mountain Wilderness. We were at an area called “The Vortex”. This was one of many vortexes in the Sedona area where people believe that the vortexes are energy sites or areas that effect your mental or physical self and enhance meditation, healing, creativity and take away rheumatism. We sat quietly for several minutes at this alleged metaphysical site. The only air pressure change that I felt was me still breaking wind from my spicy Mexican lunch. My bowels felt healed so there must be something to this place after all. Besides the foul air the view was spectacular. After hiking another trail, we retraced the Sedona View Trail back up the ridge to our truck.
