BIKED THE GAP OHIOPYLE TO CONNELLSVILLE, Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania

Biking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: September 4, 2024

After posing for photos at the old train depot/bike station and at several murals in downtown Ohiopyle (population 38 although bloated in the summer with bikers, hikers & kayakers), we biked across the Youghiogheny River on the Low Bridge in Ohiopyle (Page #4 & #5). The bridge gave us outstanding views of the river and the rocky river falls. We continued to bike north on the GAP (Great Allegheny Passage Bike Trail). About a mile later we biked over the High Bridge (Page #6 & 7), once again crossing the river. From this height, we could see several sets of challenging rapids and white-water rafters far below. Since we had already biked 23 miles to Confluence and back, we biked a little farther north towards Connellsville then turned around and came back south.
