Her uncle, writer L. Frank Baum, used her name for the main character in a book he wrote called “The Wizard of Oz”. In fact, Baum wrote 14 Oz books in the series. Next to Dorothy’s grave carved on an oak tree is the likeness of the movie Dorothy along with her dog Toto.
