WIZARD OF OZ DOROTHY Bloomington, Illinois

Expedition Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller, Tina Bartolo

Date: August 31, 2024

Little Dorothy Gage died at the age of five months in 1898 and is buried here at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Her uncle, writer L. Frank Baum, used her name for the main character in a book he wrote called “The Wizard of Oz”. In fact, Baum wrote 14 Oz books in the series. Next to Dorothy’s grave carved on an oak tree is the likeness of the movie Dorothy along with her dog Toto.
