HIKING LYONS FALLS TRAIL Mohican State Park, Loudonville, Ohio

Hiking Team: Dave Miller, Rosie Miller

Date: September 21, 2023

We began our trek at the Mohican Covered Bridge across Clearfork-Mohican River and ascended through thick woods of hemlocks, pines and various hardwood trees over rocks, roots, and footbridges. The 3.5-mile loop trail took us past Big Lyons Falls (Photo #3), a 48-foot-tall falls. Three quarters of a mile later we crossed Little Lyons Falls and soon came upon Pleasant Hill Lake and Dam. We will return and kayak here another day. A long, steep flight of stairs led us from the dam down past Morning Glory spillway to the dirt trail which led us for a mile parallel to the river back to the covered bridge.
